Crystal Cruises has announced a new check-in process to simplify embarkation procedures for all guests.

Effective from 23 January in every Crystal embarkation port, the Crystal Fast-Track Check-In eliminates the need for check-in procedures in port terminal waiting areas, instead transitioning guests from dock security directly to the lounges of Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity.

A new ticket scanning system scans a barcode on each guest cruise ticket to accelerate the check-in process on the first day of sailing. While porters load guests’ luggage onto the ship at each port, guests will still be subject to local security procedures as they enter port terminals. However, instead of waiting for their documents to be processed in the terminal, they will complete the registration on board and receive their room keys or boarding cards with photo identification.

“Travellers want to start their holiday as soon as possible,” said Philip Ordever, Crystal’s vice president, international sales. “By enhancing the ease, comfort and speed of embarkation day logistics, our guests get instant access to the ship and can enjoy the luxury of the Crystal Experience all the sooner.”
