River and coastal cruise operator Rivages du Monde has chosen Montréal as the homeport for its newly revamped cruise ship, the M/V Saint-Laurent Prestige, for the entire 2015 season.

M/V Saint Laurent Prestige, which can accommodate 220 passengers, will offer a brand-new cruise experience along the St. Lawrence River, covering Lake Ontario, Niagara Falls, Trois-Rivières and Québec as part of its itinerary.

This new programme will bring nearly 7,000 extra passengers to the Port of Montréal during the 2015 season.

“The itineraries offered by Rivages du Monde will attract a new market niche for clients seeking river cruises,” said René Trépanier, executive director of the Cruise the Saint Lawrence Association. “This will allow us to diversify the demand for stopovers upstream of the St. Lawrence.”
