German onboard cooking technology specialist MKN has appointed a new chief executive.

Georg Weber, who has worked at MKN for ten years in worldwide sales and marketing and was appointed to the management board in 2005, took over responsibility for the company in July.

Weber spearheaded the launch of the company’s energy-saving HansDampf combisteamer to global markets. Intelligent application options and technical features characterise the HansDampf cooker, which uses integrated heat recovery to allow water from condensation to be heated for steam generation. Triple glazed insulation of the cooking chamber door reduces heat loss.

The 65-year-old company has seen strong growth in demand over the last few years for its onboard cooking technology solutions, which can be tailored to the requirements of the user.
