MSC Cruises’ MSC Grandiosa has received classification society RINA’s Biosafe Ship notation, which certifies that the ship is equipped with adequate systems and components and has a layout and operational procedures that reduce infection risk.

RINA has previously verified that the MSC Cruises health and safety protocol met the European Maritime Safety Agency and European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control joint guidance. The cruise line set up a task force comprised of in-house experts to develop the new operating procedures, as well as convening a Blue Ribbon Covid-19 Expert Group and engaging consultancy Aspen Medical to further assist in this process.

MSC Grandiosa is currently sailing seven-night cruises in the Western Mediterranean for passengers from the European Schengen Area. MSC Magnifica is also scheduled to return to operation on 19 October with 10-night cruises across the Mediterranean.
