MSC Cruises has launched a new and expanded entertainment line-up for young and teenage guests across its entire fleet with an original teen music video ‘Ocean Cay: A cabin 12006 story’, featuring youth influencer Merrick Hanna.

From 15 November 2023, all MSC Cruises’ ships will provide eight hours of daily live entertainment in the onboard Young and Teens Club, where guests aged 12 to 17 will have access to consoles, games and virtual reality tech.

Onboard organised activities will include sports, aquapark entertainment and a dinner organised exclusively for young guests and teenagers. Each evening there will also be an exclusive prime-time game show, followed by a teen disco.

“The ever-increasing number of young guests and teenagers on board our ships naturally lead us to follow the trends they love most,” said Matteo Mancini, senior manager for youth entertainment. “MSC Cruises offers them an unforgettable 360-degree holiday that starts at home with our original entertainment content on the web and social media, continues on board with our activities organised by our Young and Teens Club and carries on after the cruise, thanks to the teens themselves who become our digital creators and ambassadors.”

MSC Cruises has produced a YouTube video ‘Ocean Cay: A cabin 12006 story’, which chronicles a cruise holiday to Ocean Cay with a group of young guests divided by their different interests. It stars Merrick Hanna, the former America’s Got Talent star who has 47 million followers on social media, as well as dancer Sophie Santella and YouTubers Ralphy Perdomo and Sespo.

The video’s song, ‘Ocean Cay’, was written and produced by multi-platinum music producer Riccardo Scirѐ. It is available on all MSC Cruises’ digital platforms, enabling young guests to utilise it to create their own social content while on holiday.

“We are very much in touch with the trends and demands of the young and teens audience, our most adventurous guests”, added Steve Leatham, head of entertainment. “We actively invest in industry-leading hardware and software to entertain, excite and involve them in ways they can only imagine. We are also aware that strong ambassadorial content online is a way of enabling the holiday experience to start prior to arrival and continue long afterward for our most avid social media users.”
