MSC Cruises has celebrated the float out of MSC Virtuosa at Chantiers de l’Atalantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France.

The ship will now move to a wet dock for further construction and fitting before her scheduled delivery in October 2020. MSC Virtuosa will be the second Meraviglia Plus class vessel to enter the cruise line’s fleet, following MSC Grandiosa’s debut in November. A third yet-to-be-named ship will join the class in 2023 and be powered by LNG.

MSC Virtuosa’s maiden voyage will be a seven-night Western Mediterranean cruise from Genoa, Italy in November 2020. She will then spend the winter in the region, before being redeployed to northern Europe in summer 2021.
