Northern Irish outfitting and refurbishment specialist MJM Marine has invested in new technology solutions to help its clients meet the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

MJM Marine was in the process of investing in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations platform as the pandemic hit and has continued its implementation throughout the crisis. The complete system is now expected to be in place in the first half of 2021, with training and development currently ongoing.

“Amid the lockdown, like many others in the industry we reshaped our organisation,” said Gary Annett, CEO of MJM Marine. “We have been using the time to invest in the future by training staff and continuing to develop our enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. We also struck up new partnerships, developing innovative products to expand our offering in the marketplace. We are looking forward to showcasing these innovations soon.”

MJM Marine completed the outfitting of Silversea’s Silver Origin during the pandemic. The ship will offer cruises for up to 100 guests year-round in the Galapagos Archipelago. Works were carried out on several public areas, including The Basecamp, which will host educational activities where guests will interact with Silversea’s team of expert guides as they learn about the wildlife and history Of the Galapagos Islands. MJM Marine also fitted out cabins onboard the ship, including the owner suites, royal suites, grand suites, and classic verandas.

The company was also able to roll out a new ERP module in five weeks to meet the needs of one of its clients when they encountered difficulties relating to their supply chain and material handling. This allowed MJM Marine’s crew to track and move materials at higher volumes and establish a consolidation hub and warehouse for safe storage.

“The customer is at the core of everything we do, and our team provides the heartbeat,” said Annett. “During these unprecedented times, at MJM Marine we believe the spirt of collaboration will harness resilience for the future.”
