Meyer Turku has floated TUI Cruises’ new Mein Schiff 2 out of the building dock at its shipyard in Turku, Finland.

Designed as a sister to the recently launched new Mein Schiff 1, the 3,132-guest vessel will now remain berthed at Meyer Turku’s outfitting pier while the shipyard’s team carries out final interior construction works and installs all of her systems. Once this work is complete, the vessel will the undergo sea trials before she is officially handed over to TUI Cruises in early 2019 to begin her inaugural cruise season.

“Our new generation of ships meets our expectations completely,” said Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises. “We are looking very much forward to taking with new Mein Schiff 2 into service very soon.”
