MedCruise’s stand at Seatrade Cruise Global hosted more than 60 meetings between members of the association and the cruise industry

Port association MedCruise has updated the industry with the latest statistics on Mediterranean cruising with a series of meeting and presentations at Seatrade Cruise Global.

Figen Ayan, the president of MedCruise, delivered a keynote ‘Trends in the Med’ presentation, highlighting the status of the Mediterranean as the second busiest region in the world for cruise traffic. She also participated in a discussion panel titled ‘Sustainability and regulation, while communication and marketing director Cristina De Gregori represented the association on the panel for the ‘Marketing your Destination’ session. Valeria Mangiarotti, technical environmental solutions director for MedCruise, took part on a panel titled ‘Net Zero or Net Hero’.

MedCruise had its own stand at the exhibition, where over 60 meetings were held between members of the association and the cruise industry. The 162nd meeting of the MedCruise board of directors was also held at the event.

“I am delighted that the association was once again present at such a prestigious event,” said Ayan. “During my ‘Trends in the Med’ presentation, we were able to see how the industry is growing once again and how the Association’s activities have increased. I’m particularly proud of the partnerships that we are creating with international institutions and organisations in order to help MedCruise grow in stature and deliver more experience and resources to our members.”

MedCruise will hold its own event, the annual MedCruise General Assembly, at the Port of Corfu in Greece from 23 to 26 May.
