Canadian operator Marine Atlantic has chartered ro-pax ferry A Nepita from Stena RoRo for five years to increase overall fleet capacity.
A Nepita, which was most recently operated by Corsica Linea on the route between Marseilles, France, and Corsica, has capacity for 1,200 passengers and 1,290 cargo lane metres. Key onboard amenities include cabins, restaurants and seating areas. It will be modified before beginning service to enable integration with Marine Atlantic’s docking infrastructure.
The vessel is scheduled to arrive in Canada in summer 2026, whereupon Marine Atlantic will conduct the required integration and crew familiarisation activities. The goal is to have the vessel ready to enter service in autumn 2026.
