Princess Cruises’ Majestic Princess sailed along the world’s first ‘floating runway’ when she made her maiden call at her new homeport in Sydney, Australia on 15 September.

The 1,550 metre-long illuminated floating runway was created by 62 buoys with red and white flares that guided Majestic Princess into Sydney Harbour.

Majestic Princess, which is the largest and newest of Princess Cruises’ ships to ever visit Australia, will homeport in Sydney for the next six months. The 3,560-guest vessel is the fourth Princess Cruises vessel sailing itineraries from Australia – Sun Princess, Sea Princess and Golden Princess will also offer departures from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Fremantle and Adelaide in 2019-2020. This marks the line’s largest-ever deployment in the region.
