Singaporean operator Majestic Ferries has launched Majestic 7, the first of four new high-speed catamaran passenger ferries that have been designed by Incat Crowther.

Built at PT Cahaya Samudra Shipyard in Indonesia, the 30m vessel will operate between Singapore and Batam. The ferry can accommodate 200 passengers, who can enter through midship boarding doors and sit in forward-facing seats. A kiosk and a six-person crew room are located at the aft end of the cabin. The upper deck contains the wheelhouse.

Majestic 7 is built to the High Speed Craft 2000 code powered by a pair of MAN D2862 LE463 main engines rated at 1029kW, as well as driving fixed pitch propellers. The vessel performed well in sea trials, reaching a loaded speed in excess of 30 knots. It will be operated at a service speed of 28 knots.
