Le Havre’s cruise terminals handled their first simultaneous vessel calls in April 2026, as Princess Cruises’ Majestic Princess made its inaugural call at the Le Havre Verrazzano Cruise Terminal alongside Nieuw Statendam of Holland America Line.

The dual call marks the first time the port’s new cruise terminal infrastructure has accommodated two vessels at the same time, demonstrating its increased handling capacity after the opening of the newly constructed Terminal 1 in early April.

“This inaugural call of Majestic Princess, during a dual operation at our new cruise terminals, marks an important milestone for Le Havre,” said Alexandra Ruiz, managing director of Le Havre Croisières. “It reflects the strong confidence of international cruise lines and the step-change in scale of our infrastructure, now fully operational. These new facilities significantly enhance the competitiveness of Le Havre and the Normandy region on the global cruise market, while reinforcing their attractiveness among leading cruise operators.”

A plaque exchange ceremony was held on board Majestic Princess, attended by local and port representatives, including Caroline Leclercq, deputy mayor of Le Havre; Nicolas Chervy, harbour master representing Haropa Port; Laëtitia Ziane, coordinator for Seamen’s Club; and Cécilia Hesseron of Le Havre Croisières. The delegation was received by Captain Giuseppe Castellano and the ship’s crew.

Majestic Princess, which is operating Northern Europe itineraries after repositioning from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is scheduled to make 13 calls to Le Havre during the 2026 season, running until September. The vessel carried more than 3,300 passengers on its inaugural visit, the majority from the United States, along with approximately 1,300 crew members.
