Corsica Linea took delivery of its newest ferry, Capu Rossu, in March 2026, with the ship now operating on routes serving the French island of Corsica. The ship is named after a red granite headland that overlooks the Gulf of Porto in Corsica, and the name is intended as a tribute to the island’s strength, beauty and spirit.
Capu Rossu is the operator’s first E-Flexer vessel – a standardised ro-pax design developed by Stena RoRo. The LNG-powered ro-pax ferry was built by China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Weihai Shipyard. The design, build and operation of Capu Rossu complies with Corsica Linea’s decarbonisation strategy, with the operator aiming to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 40 per cent by 2030, with the ambition of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.
Though the ship’s exterior follows the standard E-Flexer design, Corsica Linea tailored the interior layout of the ship to meet the specific needs of its guests. All passenger facilities are located on deck seven and include a spacious restaurant at the front of the ship, a snack bar offering a selection of quick dining options, a central bar area, a 76-seat lounge, a play area for children and an arcade room.
The ferry can accommodate up to 1,035 passengers in its 234 cabins, including six that have been adapted for passengers with reduced mobility and 20 luxury rooms offering double beds. Every cabin features a television, private bathroom and air conditioning.
Capu Rossu is purpose-built for the Marseille-Corsica route, and it will mainly serve the Marseille-Bastia and Marseille-Ajaccio routes. As part of Corsica Linea’s broader network, the ferry may occasionally rotate to operate other routes as scheduling requires.
Corsica Linea hosted two welcome ceremonies for Capu Rossu – on 11 June in Marseille and the following day in Ajaccio – to coincide with the tenth anniversary of Corsica Linea.
