Interferry has appointed Götz Becker of FRS as chairman at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Sorrento, Italy. Supapan Pichaironarongsongkram of Chao Phraya Express Boat Co was also chosen as the new president for the next year, succeeding Guido Grimaldi.
The global ferry association, which represents companies and individuals in over 40 countries, also appointed six new members to its Board of Directors, who will each serve a four-year term. They are Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, general manager at Lagos State Waterways Authority and the association’s first African director; Guido Grimaldi, corporate commercial director of short sea shipping at Grimaldi Group; Morgan Mooney, CEO of San Juan Clipper/CNI Newco and Fire Island Marine Services; Mary Ann Pastrana, executive vice president at Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corporation; Katy Taylor, CEO at Wightlink in the UK; and Mark Wilson, CEO of Bay Ferries Limited and Northumberland Ferries Limited.
“I am proud to say that these new directors enhance the board’s representation of the global ferry industry, as Interferry continues to expand its worldwide presence,” said Mike Corrigan, CEO of Interferry. “The depth of experience and breadth of geographical and diverse representation are tremendous assets.
“On behalf of the entire Interferry organisation, I would like to congratulate and welcome Götz Becker as our new chair. We look forward to working with Götz as we continue delivering on our current strategic plan and prepare for an even more vibrant future, as we approach the 50th jubilee year of Interferry in 2026.”
At the AGM, Interferry also extended its “sincere thanks and appreciation” to the outgoing directors, Christopher ‘Chet’ Pastrana and Emanuele Grimaldi, as well as outgoing chair Tim Mooney.
