Chemical company Indorama Ventures has introduced a new option for its Trevira CS Eco fabrics, allowing customers to choose to use flame-retardant fibres and filament yarns that contain 50 per cent recycled textile materials.

The new offering has been enabled by Indorama’s joint venture with Jiaren Chemical Recycling, which was announced in November 2025

“The renowned recycler uses textile waste from both, consumers and industry, to produce recycled polyester chips,” said Jesper Nielsen, global key account manager for flame retardancy at Indorama Ventures.” From these chips, we make our high-modified Trevira flame-retardant fibres and yarns. Customers who use these fibres and yarns to produce fabrics can then apply for the Trevira CS Eco brand. This way, they combine their commitment to circularity with the strong, permanent flame-retardant performance the Trevira CS fabric brand is known for since 1980.”

Trevira CS fabrics can be used for various home and contract textiles, such as drapes, decorative fabrics, upholstery fabrics, wall coverings, bedding, table linen and more. The fabrics are seawater and moisture resistant and meet IMO fire safety standards required for use onboard cruise ships.
