HX (formerly Hurtigruten Expeditions)’s expedition ship, Maud, will return to service in April 2024.

Maud has been out of service since it was damaged by bad weather in late December 2023. All the necessary repairs have been completed, so the ship will set sail for an expedition around the British Isles in mid-April. Scottish weather presenter Carol Kirkwood will be onboard during the second British Isles journey to provide guests with talks and Q&A sessions as the ship sails from Douglas in the Isle of Man to Dover, UK.

In July, Maud will sail to the Arctic, providing expeditions to Greenland and Iceland. In October, the ship will head south to Antarctica for a series of new expeditions, including the 17-day Chilean Patagonia and Antarctica expedition. Maud will also offer guests 23- and 24-day voyages visiting South America, the Falkland Islands, and South Georgia.

HX has curated a range of options for those originally booked on Maud from 3 February to 16 March 2024. Guests can experience the same Northern Lights itinerary on another HX vessel, Spitsbergen (subject to availability). They also have the flexibility to rebook another voyage between January and April 2024, including select Norway sailings with sister brand, Hurtigruten. Alternatively, they can receive a voucher to book a new expedition at a later date or receive a full refund.
