Hurtigruten will be the first passenger shipping operator to sail spring expedition cruises as far as 80° North in the Flam Strait in 2016.

Offered as part of Hurtigruten’s Explorer programme for 2016, the ten-day Polar Pioneers of Svalbard roundtrips will take place onboard Fram, departing from Tromso in Norway on 25 April and 4 May. The ship will then sail to the remote island of Bjornoya, Spitsbergen and the North Cape – the northernmost point of mainland Europe – in the Svalbard Archipelago.

Guests sailing on these cruises will have the opportunity to visit the fjords, the midnight sun in Svalbard and newborn polar bears and seals.
