Holland America is expanding its range of live performance venues with the addition of poolside bandstands onboard Vista-class ships Oosterdam and Zuiderdam as part of its $500 million Evolution fleet enhancement programme.

The new live music venue will be installed by the Lido Pool on both ships and host varioussolo performers, live bands and events connected to the cruise line’s signature Orange Party. It will debut on Oosterdam in autumn 2027.

Oosterdam and Zuiderdam are two of the six ships that will be refitted as part of the Evolution programme, which is the largest fleet enhancement project in Holland America Line’s history. The company will make Pinnacle class-inspired upgrades across six of its Vista- and Signature-class ships, introducing new staterooms and suites, the popular Grand Dutch Café, and various other enhancements.

My Nguyen, senior direct of design and innovation at Hollad America Line and Seabourn, talks about how the cruise line is setting a new standard for sustainable ship interiors through its fleet-wide upgrades in an interview with Cruise & Ferry.

“Evolution is about bringing the very best of Holland America Line to more of our fleet,” said Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line. “Over the past several years, we've been on a journey to expand and elevate our entertainment offerings across the fleet, guided by what our guests tell us they love most. The new Lido Pool bandstands are another step in that effort, creating more opportunities to enjoy live music and memorable performances in one of the ship's most popular gathering spaces.”
