Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Europa 2 is to offer her first mystery cruise, new themed itineraries and make maiden calls at destinations in Oceania during the 2016-2017 cruise season.

Next year, Europa 2 will offer fashion2sea itineraries, where guests can attend fashion shows showcasing collections by well-known designers, a pop-up store, make-up workshops and fashion-related shore excursions.

Guests can also participate in Be.You, a new onboard fitness programme developed by former German World Cup alpine ski racer Maria Höfl-Riesch. Participants will complete a personal body analysis, which will be used to devise a tailored training and nutritional programme. Höfl-Riesch will join two cruises in May and November 2016 and train alongside the guests.

Other highlights of Europa 2’s 2016-2017 programme include the art2sea cruise, where guests will be able to view more than 890 pieces of original artwork onboard the ship and attend major exhibitions in cities such as Boston and New York in the US.

Meanwhile, Sabine Christiansen, a former German TV presenter and award-winning journalist, will present her exclusive talk-show format talk2christiansen onboard Europa 2. She will interview international politicians, Nobel Prize laureates, entrepreneurs, experts, best-selling authors and public figures to discuss contemporary issues.

Next year, Europa 2 will visit Fiji and New Caledonia in the South Pacific, as well as Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand, and Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Middle and Hamilton Island and Burnie in Tasmania, Australia. Other new port calls include Taiwan, Thailand and Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos, Isla de la Juventud and Havana in Cuba.

The ship will also sail a new route from Greenland to Canada in August and September, calling at Nuuk, Sisimiut and Disko Bay in Greenland, as well as St. John’s in Newfoundland, Saguenay, Quebec and Montreal in Canada.

In September, Europa 2 will then sail two North American cruises to destinations such as New York, Boston, Cape Cod, Charleston in South Carolina, Miami, Key West in Florida and New Orleans.

Europa 2 will make her maiden call at the Port of Dublin in the Republic of Ireland as part of her two, nine-night Round Britain cruises. Departing the German port of Hamburg on 20 July, Europa 2 will sail a family- and golf-themed voyage calling at Southampton, Falmouth and Liverpool in the UK, before arriving in Dublin. On 29 July, the ship will depart Dublin and head to Hamburg via Belfast in Northern Ireland, as well as the Scottish ports of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, Portree on the Isle of Skye and Rosyth in Edinburgh.

Next May, Europa 2 will embark on her first mystery cruise, which will start in Istanbul, Turkey, and conclude in Piraeus, Greece. Unlike a traditional cruises, the ports of call will be chosen by the passengers and the captain en route.
