Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ three new expedition ships will each feature a wellness deck with an outdoor pool, a fitness area with ocean views and an expansive spa offering holistic, natural and sustainable treatments.

Scheduled to debut between 2019 and 2021, Hanseatic Nature, Hanseatic Inspiration and Hanseatic Spirit have all been designed according to an ‘inspired by nature’ philosophy.

The highlight of each ship’s wellness deck will be the 235-metre-square Ocean Spa, which will boast a Finnish sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor space, treatment rooms with views of the ocean, a steam sauna, a hydrotherapy shower, an ice fountain and a hairdressing salon. Sustainable vegan products created by Vinoble, Hyapur, John Masters Organics and Nailberry will be used during massages and cosmetic treatments.

Located next to the Ocean Spa will be the 100-metre-square fitness area, which has a studio with floor-to-ceiling windows that can be opened onto a private outdoor area. Guests will be able to use advanced fitness equipment themselves, or participate in personal or group training, Pilates or Antarctic sun salutation classes with a qualified fitness instructor.

Guests will also have access to a 630-metre-square pool, which has a flexible canopy so it can be used in inclement weather.

Hanseatic Nature will be the first of the three, 230-guest, ice-class passenger ships to launch, setting sail on her maiden cruise on 13 April 2019. She will be followed by Hanseatic Inspiration in October 2019 and Hanseatic Spirit in 2021. The first two vessels will be marketed to the international market, while the third ship will be exclusively targeted at the German-speaking market.
