First Chinese-built large cruise ship to be named Adora Magic City

Adora Cruises, a joint cruise venture by Carnival Corporation and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Cruise Technology, will name its new vessel Adora Magic City, according to Chinese state news agency Xinhua.

Adora Magic City aims to offer guests a blend of Eastern and Western experiences and will homeport in Shanghai, China, during its inaugural season.

The 135,500gt vessel was designed and built by CSSC and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Company and is the first large cruise ship to be constructed in China. The vessel will accommodate 5,446 passengers and will be delivered by the end of 2023, following interior outfitting.

Once launched, Adora Magic City will sail cruises to neighbouring countries. Itineraries are yet to be announced.
