Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri is to build a third new ocean cruise ship for Crystal Cruises, which will begin service in May 2034. The option was first discussed in 2024.
The first ship in the new series is Crystal Grace, which is currently under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard and is expected to debut in 2028. The second ship is yet to be named and will debut in 2031.
“The effectiveness of the contract signed back in 2024 is a testament to the strength of our partnership with Crystal and A&K Travel Group and reflects our shared commitment to innovation, craftsmanship and excellence,” said Luigi Matarazzo, general manager of the Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division. “We are proud to continue building a new generation of luxury ships that combine Italian shipbuilding expertise with Crystal’s uncompromising vision for exceptional hospitality at sea.”
All three 62,000gt ships will accommodate 650 guests at double occupancy and feature all-veranda suites, including an expansive Owner's Suite and a new range of accommodation designed to meet evolving guest preferences. This will include suites for solo travelers.
Each ship will also have a wraparound promenade inspired by those onboard the brand’s existing vessels, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. They will also have outdoor dining terraces, open-air venues and various other amenities.
