Construction work has started on Carnival Cruise Line’s third Vista-class ship, following a steel-cutting ceremony at Fincantieri’s Marghera yard in Italy on 7 July 2017.

To be delivered in autumn 2019, the 133,500gt newbuild will be a sister to Carnival Vista, which was delivered by Fincantieri in April 2016, and Carnival Horizon, which will be delivered by the Marghera yard at the start of 2018.

Able to accommodate more than 6,500 people – including passengers in 1,987 staterooms and suites, and 761 crew members – the Vista class are the largest ships that Fincantieri has ever built for Carnival.
