Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Explorer was launched at Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente yard in Italy on 30 October.

The newbuild was moved from the yard’s building dock during a ceremony attended by Robin Lindsay, executive vice president of vessel operations at Regent Seven Seas; Raffaele Davassi, director of the Sestri Ponente yard; and godmother for the ceremony, Antonia Ronchi, a Fincantieri employee.

Seven Seas Explorer, which is the first ship Fincantieri has built for Regent Seven Seas, has now entered the final interior outfitting stages.

Scheduled for delivery in summer 2016, the 56,000gt vessel will be able to accommodate 750 passengers in 377 spacious suites. She will also feature the line’s first 3,875 sq ft suite, a range of casual and main dining options, three speciality dining venues, the two-tiered Constellation Theater and more.
