Explora Journeys has signed a Letter of Intent with Dutch shipbuilder Den Breejen Shipyard for the construction of a fleet of river cruise ships.
agreement marks the luxury cruise brand’s first entry into the river cruise market. Explora currently operates a fleet of three ocean vessels, with three more, Explora IV, Explora V and Explora VI, set to be delivered by 2028.
According to the company, it intends to bring its philosophy of “combining the freedom and discovery of travelling by sea with the elegance and refinement of European hospitality and design” to river cruising in Europe.
Further details about the new river ships’ design, onboard experiences, delivery schedules and initial itineraries will be announced at a later date.
