Emerald Cruises has marked the ceremonial launch of Emerald Lumi at the MKM Yachts shipyard in Romania, with the new river ship entering water for the first time ahead of its inaugural season on the Seine in March 2027.

At 110 metres in length, Emerald Lumi has been designed specifically for sailing on the Seine, allowing it to reach central Paris and Honfleur. The vessel will carry a maximum of 130 guests in staterooms and suites with all-weather balconies, with public spaces including Reflections Restaurant, Horizon Bar and Lounge, a heated indoor pool that converts to an evening cinema and a self-service laundry.

The inaugural eight-day Sensations of the Seine and Normandy itinerary operates round-trip from Paris to Honfleur, with overnight stays in Honfleur and La Roche-Guyon. Guest experiences will include a guided tour of the Normandy D-Day landing sites, an excursion to Monet’s garden in Giverny, a walking tour of Honfleur with oyster tasting and a visit to a Normandy cider farm. Active excursion options include guided e-bike rides, hiking and kayaking.

Emerald Lumi is one of several additions across Scenic Group’s fleet. Emerald Kaia and Emerald Astra have recently entered service, with Emerald Raiya and Emerald Xara to follow in 2027 and 2028. Sister brand Scenic is adding Scenic Ikon in 2028, alongside new ships on the Mekong and Hooghly rivers.
