Christine Duffy is leaving CLIA to join Carnival Cruise Line as its new president.

The current president and CEO of CLIA will join Carnival on 1 February 2015 following an “orderly period of transition” and says that she leaves with the confidence knowing that, together with its partners, CLIA has “built a solid infrastructure” based on its new ‘One Industry Once Voice’ vision.

Duffy replaces Gerry Cahill, who served as president and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines from 2007 until his retirement last month. In her new role, Duffy will report to Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corporation & plc. “Christine is one of the most respected and dynamic leaders in the travel industry,” said Donald. “She brings a wealth of experience to Carnival Cruise Line that will help the cruise line continue to deliver unmatched vacation experiences to millions of guests each year.”
