Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, Disney Wish, has arrived at its new homeport of Port Canaveral, Florida.

A flotilla of tugboats escorted Disney Wish into the port, with the Port Canaveral Fire Rescue Fireboat 2 providing a water cannon salute.

“We have anticipated this homecoming of the Disney Wish for some time and know that our entire community is excited to have her sailing from our port,” said John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral. “We are proud of the longstanding partnership we have with Disney Cruise Line, and the arrival of the Disney Wish adds to the growing number of impressive cruise ships providing high quality guest experiences from our port.”

The new ship will offer three- and four-night itineraries to The Bahamas with stops at Disney’s private island destination, Castaway Cay. Her inaugural sailing will depart from Port Canaveral’s Terminal 8 on 14 July.

Disney Wish is powered by LNG fuel, with Port Canaveral currently being the only cruise port in North America to provide refuelling for LNG-powered ships. The vessel is the first of three new ships joining Disney Cruise Line by 2025.
