De Wave Group has completed the acquisition of cruise ship catering design and services supplier DL Services, marking the group’s tenth acquisition in five years and representing a further step in its growth strategy within the shipbuilding sector.

The transaction was completed with the assistance of SIMEST, an Italian state-owned company that supports Italian companies in international expansion. SIMEST invested approximately €3 million ($3.49 million) through shareholder financing and a capital increase, including resources from investment initiative Fund 394 in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

“With the acquisition of DL Services, we internalise two strategic areas of expertise: catering area design, including concept development, and a library of technical data for maintenance of onboard kitchen equipment, which are now essential to ensuring complete and reliable services for all our partners,” said Riccardo Pompili, CEO of De Wave Group. “This transaction also allows us to establish direct relationships with a broad network of suppliers and to strengthen our presence across the entire production value chain.”

The existing management team at DL Services will remain in place to support operational continuity and client engagement.

“The integration of DL Services into a leading group such as De Wave represents a significant growth opportunity,” said Daniel Laine, CEO of DL Services. “The complementarity of our expertise and the group’s global presence will allow us to further enhance our know-how and accelerate expansion in international markets.”

De Wave Group now operates seven production facilities and 13 operational sites worldwide, employing around 1,500 people. The group is aiming to exceed €500 million in revenue by 2026.
