TUI Cruises and AIDA Cruises have implemented MarineXchange’s MXP Protect, an application suite launched in May to help passenger ship operators respond to the challenges of Covid-19.

MXP Protect provides operators with the tools they need to ensure capacity control and contact tracing, as well as special reporting and auto-notifications. It also offers mobile applications to help them handle new procedures and enable contactless working.

AIDA Cruises has used the suite’s mobile point of sale and mobile waiter order applications for full contactless operations in the bars, restaurants and shops. TUI Cruises, meanwhile, has helped to enhance MXP Protect’s functionality by adding site management to the biometric kiosks, creating a new mobile logging app, and incorporating a digital health questionnaire into the pre-cruise check-in process.

New functionalities have also been added to the MXP Restaurant Reservation application and API to manage the enforced changes to table layouts. Pre-cruise, the API enables automatic table assignment with load balancing across waiter stations and controls capacities. During the cruise, the API extends the same functionality to the guest’s mobile app, digital signage and TV. All reservation data automatically replicates between the office and ships.
