Executives from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, MSC Cruises, AIDA Cruises, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and other cruise brands will join talks and conference sessions at Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Americas (CSI Americas), which will take place in Miami, Florida, from 3-4 June 2025.

The two-day event, which is co-located with Hotel & Resort Design South and Cruise Xperience Innovation Summit (CXI), will discuss topics including controlling waste in refurbishment, cross-discipline design insights and future proofing, as well as the trends driving hotel brands to venture into the cruise industry with small yacht-like vessels.

Conference sessions will be titled ‘Delivering the brand: Aligning refurbishment and newbuild’ and ‘Shared horizons: Thinking across hospitality design disciplines’. The schedule will also feature a Sustainable Design Summit session titled ‘Reducing the mid-life waste crisis’. This session aims to continue the conversation from previous Sustainable Design Summit working groups on how to reduce waste in refurbishments. Speakers will include Bruce Goff renovation manager (premium brands) at IHG Hotels & Resorts and Marc Spingler, director of hotel maintenance/dock docks and refit from AIDA Cruises.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend intimate conversations with designers from cruise brands, procurement companies and design studios. These hybrid networking and content sessions have been designed to facilitate the sharing of brand practices, procurement processes and identity evolution. Sessions will include: CSI+ In conversation with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection; Meet the Brand Q&A with The Parker Company; and the 305 Design Break, which will feature insights from five Miami-based design studios.

The schedule for the first-ever CXI, which is exclusively dedicated to connecting the buyers and suppliers of the cruise design industry, will open with a ‘Frictionless guest interaction for improved guest experience’ talk. It will include insights from Cristina Fernandez, senior director of digital product strategy at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

Day two will feature conversations about new concepts in immersive experiences, hospitality design, and a ‘Beyond the plate: experiential dining and interactive signage’ session. Key speakers will include Charles Steadman, director of food and beverage experience and partnerships at Virgin Voyages; Katy Harris, director of creative experiences at Carnival Cruise Line; Marisa Christenson, director of food and beverage operations and development at Holland America Line; and Ronnie Farzad, principal at Spark Cooperative.
