Costa Cruises has signed a ten-year agreement with Central Romana Corporation to support its fly-cruise operations through La Romana in the Dominican Republic, providing long-term planning certainty for ship calls, flights, berths and port and airport infrastructure.

The agreement was signed at World Travel Market in London on 5 November 2026, in the presence of David Collado, tourism minister of the Dominican Republic, formalising the companies' previous collaboration.

La Romana's cruise port and international airport operate in close proximity, allowing passengers to transfer between flights and ships with shorter journey times. The agreement provides a framework for coordinating these services and supporting future operations.

“This agreement gives our many years of cooperation with La Romana a stable framework for the next decade,” said Daniel Caprile, vice-president of pricing and revenue management, itinerary and transportation at Costa Cruises. “Long-term planning helps us coordinate ships, flights and services ashore more effectively, for the benefit of our guests and travel partners.”

During the 2026/27 winter season, Costa Fascinosa will operate two seven-night itineraries from La Romana. The 'Antilles Collection' will visit Barbados, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Guadeloupe and Tortola, while the 'Caribbean Heart' itinerary will call at Catalina Island, Cabo Rojo, Samaná and Turks and Caicos.

Both itineraries will also feature Costa's Sea Destinations, which combine the natural surroundings of selected locations at sea with themed onboard entertainment. These include Caribbean Sea Darkest Spot, where guests can observe the night sky away from artificial light; Guadeloupe Bay, which hosts a moonlight entertainment experience; and Catalina Bay, which features sunset entertainment.

“This agreement is an important milestone in our long-standing collaboration and strengthens La Romana as a strategic cruise destination, homeport and fly-cruise hub in the Caribbean,” said Luis Emilio Rodríguez Amiama, port director at Central Romana Corporation.
