Construction on Crystal’s first newbuild ship in 25 years will begin in May 2026 with the steel cutting. The keel laying is expected to take place in December 2026 and the ship is scheduled to be delivered by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri in May 2028.

“Behind the scenes, our teams have been working diligently on every element of this extraordinary project, from design and craftsmanship to technical innovation,” said Cristina Levis, CEO of Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group, which acquired the cruise brand in June 2022. “These milestones represent more than construction progress; they are a testament to our shared commitment with Fincantieri to deliver the most exceptional ship at sea, on schedule and with an unparalleled attention to detail.”

The ship’s name and details on its inaugural voyages in 2028 will be announced later in 2025.
