Caledonian Maritime Assets (CMAL) has appointed McLaughlin Harvey to upgrade its ferry terminal facilities at Kennacraig in Argyll, Scotland.

As part of the extensive project, McLaughlin Harvey will replace overhead electricity supplies with an underground electricity supply and install lighting, as well as raising and widening the existing access causeway.

The contractors will also install a new fender in the existing berth, construct parking andmarshalling areas, improving safety around the terminal site.

Construction is due to start on 3 June 2013 and is scheduled for completion in December 2013. Further works will be undertaken in November 2015.
