Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is hosting the ‘Celebration of Cruise Week’, a week-long series of free events starting on 24 May for agents to mark the resumption of cruise.

The week will include dedicated sessions with industry experts, with cruise lines and partners joining twice-daily webinars to showcase their brands and initiatives. These sessions are intended to provide agents with information to support sales as cruising resumes in the UK and around the world.

The programme begins with an introduction by Andy Harmer, managing director of CLIA UK and Ireland, and Tony Roberts, CLIA’s chair, along with contributions from Fred. Olsen CruIses, Holland America Line and MSC Cruises in the first session. Norwegian Cruise Line, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Saga will then join for the second session of the day.

This will be followed by an introduction interview on 25 May with travel journalist Jane Archer, with presentations by Aurora Expeditions, Singapore Tourism Board, Oceania and Seabourn, before Abercrombie & Kent, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea and Swan Hellenic contribute later in the day.

The session on 26 May will feature an interview with travel journalist Sara Macefield. Royal Caribbean International, Cruise Appy, Virgin Voyages and Beds Online will join the first session of the day, while the Port of Seattle, Carnival Cruise Line, Greater Miami CVB and Hebridean Island Cruises will be attending the second.

The final day of webinars on 27 May will be introduced by journalist Jeannine Williamson, with contributions from Avalon Waterways, CroisiEurope, Scenic and Emerald Cruises. AmaWaterways, APT and Riviera Travel will then join the final session of the week.

“We’re incredibly excited by the imminent return of cruise and are delighted to be able to launch our celebration week for agents,” said Harmer. “With a host of ocean and river cruise lines taking part, as well as a number of key partners, these sessions are not to be missed for agents looking to take advantage of cruise’s resumption.”
