Celebrity Cruises has revealed its onboard entertainment programme for its new ship, Celebrity Beyond, which will debut on 27 April 2022.

The onboard theatre, which will feature a 110-foot curved 4K LED screen with moving panels and floor projection technology, will showcase three unique production shows including Arte, Stage Door and Elements.

The Arte programme will present a combination of dance, acrobatics and visual effects to music, with choreography by West End creative leader Kendra Horbugh. It will also highlight the contemporary sculptures of Brazilian artist Rubem Robierb, focusing on his ‘Peace Makers’ sculpture that is displayed on Celebrity Beyond.

Celebrity will provide immersive performances of musical theatre through its Stage Door production, which will be accompanied by a soundtrack pre-recorded by a full symphony orchestra in the London Palladium theatre in the UK. Performances will be choreographed by Gary Lloyd, previous director of West End’s Thriller Live!

Elements will be a production based on five elements including air, water, earth, fire and ether. Entertainers will use technology, visuals, acrobatic performances and fashion-inspired costumes to create the programme. Air sculptures by Brooklyn-based artist Daniel Wurtzel will also be a highlight within the show where air will be blown into large sheets of flowing fabric to create dancing art. Choreography for this show has been created by Lukas McFarlane, Marck Stevens and Liam Lunniss.

“When you have a ship named ‘Beyond,’ it’s a promise to our guests to take every aspect of the ship beyond anything we’ve done before,” said Brian Abel, senior vice president of hotel operations at Celebrity Cruises. “We’ve set the stage with so many experiential and imaginative offerings that I have never been more excited to debut our entertainment programming.”

Other onboard entertainment will be provided at the ship’s onboard bars, restaurants and public areas. The Club will host jazz, rock and brass music nights, while the three-storey Eden area will offer multisensory experiences, changing themes throughout the day. In addition, the Grand Plaza will deliver eight light shows choreographed to music, while the Rooftop Garden will host morning yoga sessions, outdoor movie showings and dancing.

Celebrity Cruises will also offer entertainment for children in the Camp at Sea and Teen Club areas. It will provide video showcases and STEM activities for younger children, and silent disco parties, digital trivia and game nights for teenagers.

“It has been such an honour to collaborate with some of the best live show creative minds to develop world-class performances and experiences at every turn throughout the ship,” said Lisa Lehr, vice president of entertainment at Celebrity Cruises. “Beyond delivers an onboard entertainment experience that our guests will be talking about long after they have returned home.”

Celebrity Beyond will sail her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK, in April, and then operate in the Mediterranean during the summer before travelling to the Caribbean in October.
