Carnival Cruise Line is to introduce several new itineraries in 2027, including its first-ever visits to African ports, as well as several European destinations.

Carnival Sunshine will operate a number of Mediterranean and North African cruises from the end of May to October 2027, departing from Barcelona, Spain, and Civitavecchia, Italy. The itineraries, which range from seven nights to longer sailings, will include visits to ports in Spain, France, Turkey and Montenegro, as well as maiden calls to La Goulette (Tunis) in Tunisia and Tangier, Morocco. Maiden calls will also be made to Bari in Italy; Bar in Montenegro; and Ajaccio (Corsica) in France.

The 2027 cruise season will also see Carnival Sunshine returning to ports not visited by the cruise line in a number of years, including Genoa, Salerno, Palermo and Catania in Italy; Palma de Mallorca in Spain; and Izmir in Turkey. The ship’s 2027 European sailing programme also includes one sailing from Dover in the UK, four departures from Civitavecchia and ten sailings from Barcelona.

The ship is also offering a solar eclipse cruise departing from Barcelona on 25 July. Carnival Sunshine will sail the path of maximum visibility for the celestial event on 2 August, with visits to Marseilles, France; Genoa, Salerno, and Catania in Italy; Valletta, Malta; and La Goulette. The cruise will also feature themed programming and onboard activities celebrating the eclipse.

“We’re excited to bring Carnival Sunshine to an expanded lineup of destinations that offer our guests even more ways to explore Europe and beyond,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “With our first-ever African ports, new European calls and once-in-a-lifetime eclipse sailing, this deployment delivers variety, adventure and memorable experiences our guests look forward to when sailing on Carnival.”
