Carnival Cruise Line’s new flagship, Carnival Jubilee, has arrived at its homeport of Galveston in Texas, USA.

After a two-week transatlantic crossing from Germany, where the ship was delivered by shipbuilder Meyer Werft, Carnival Jubilee arrived in Texas at 8am local time. The ship will welcome its first passengers on 23 December 2023.

As the first all-new Carnival ship to homeport in Galveston, Carnival Jubilee will honour its homeport by hosting a three-hour Lone Star Tailgate party, celebrating all things Texas, on the ship’s Lido during each cruise.

“The Lone Star Tailgate isn’t just a party – it’s a celebration of family, fun and fierce competition,” said Chris Nelson, vice president of entertainment for Carnival Cruise Line. “We have created Carnival University, a fictious university in the heart of Texas. It’s the big game night and we are throwing a tailgate party for the whole family. The activities, from races and challenges to a party band celebrating Texas born musical artists, put a fresh take on our crowd-pleasing fun.”

A new programme of onboard entertainment will also pay homage to Texas; music from Texas artists will be played across the ship which is proudly adorned with a Texas star on its bow. Carnival Jubilee will feature a new live show, ‘Dear Future Husband’, an interactive pop musical which follows a bride and groom on a wedding adventure – aboard a cruise ship – with their best friends.

In addition to the Texas-themed entertainment, Carnival Jubilee’s new onboard entertainment programme features an array of reimagined experiences for kids, tweens and teens, including its Space Cruisers programme, run in partnership with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, a See The World programme for teens, a new evening programme, Night Owls Camp Out, and updated Dr. Seuss-themed activities.

“Kids and multigenerational families sailing on Carnival Jubilee are set to enjoy a new level of fun with all new experiences tailored to every age group,” said Melissa Mahaffey, Carnival’s director of youth and family experience. “We’re welcoming new characters, creating new spaces, and telling new stories so everyone in the family can make the most of their cruise vacation.”

Carnival Jubilee will spend its maiden season offering seven-day itineraries from Galveston to Western Caribbean destinations.
