Carnival Cruise Line’s new flagship Mardi Gras has departed on her sea trials from the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland. The vessel will spend 10 days at sea before returning to the shipyard for final preparations for her departure to the USA.

Mardi Gras is scheduled to enter service from Port Canaveral on 6 February 2021 and will become the first ship in North America to be powered by LNG. Her sister ship Carnival Celebration is also under construction at Meyer Turku and is scheduled for delivery in 2022.
