Carnival Cruise Line has become the first cruise brand in the world to have embarked 100 million guests.

The milestone was commemorated as Debbie and David Clifford boarded Carnival Sunrise at PortMiami in Florida, USA, on 16 March 2023. The couple were welcomed onboard by Christine Duffy, the brand’s president, and crew members, including Captain Luca Cherci.

Other guests embarking on the cruise took part in the festivities, which included taking  photos to signify that each passenger is “One in 100 Million”.

“We’re the first cruise line to meet this incredible mark of 100 million guests and I believe it is a testament to the fun, inclusive atmosphere our valued guests and our extraordinary team members have created together onboard our ships for the past 51 years,” said Duffy. “There is certainly much more fun to come. We’re continuing to grow our operations at a rapid pace – with three ships joining our fleet by the spring of next year.”

Carnival Venezia will debut in May 2022 and offer cruises from New York City, USA. Carnival Jubilee will be the third sister ship to Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration and will sail from Galveston, Texas, and Carnival Firenze will launch in spring 2024 to offer year-round cruises from Long Beach, California.
