Chinese operator Blue Jet Zhuhai Fast Ferries has taken delivery of its fifth Coastal Cruiser passenger ferry, which was designed by Dutch company CoCo Yachts and built by Plenty Shipbuilding Industry in Zhuhai, China.
Named Xin Hai Zhu, the high-speed ferry can accommodate 356 passengers and 10 crew members, making it the largest in terms of capacity in the Blue Jet Zhuhai Fast Ferries fleet. Xin Hai Zhu is also the fastest propeller ship in the fleet as it is capable of operating at a speed of 30.7 knots using two propellers connected to two main engines.
The vessel will operate services between mainland China and Hong Kong Island.
