Ambassador Cruise Line is to incorporate a range of dining experiences onboard its second ship, Ambition, which will depart on its maiden voyage on 12 May 2023.

The dining concepts and menus are inspired by traditional British and Mediterranean cuisines, as well as global flavours served in a variety of settings.

“Onboard Ambition, there are dining venues for every mood - from traditional afternoon teas to gala dinners alongside the ship’s Captain – providing ample opportunity for guests to be surprised and delighted throughout their journey,” said Bob McGowan, head of guest experience at Ambassador Cruise Line. “Carefully designed by our executive chef team, the dining concepts and menus have been created with guest experience at the heart. Following a strong food and beverage customer satisfaction score of 92 per cent onboard Ambience we have ensured that we’ve taken on valuable guest feedback and learnings when conceptualising the offerings on Ambition.”

Buckingham and Holyrood Restaurants will offer buffet and a la carte dining experiences with menus serving traditional British dishes such as Shepherd's Pie, alongside Mediterranean dishes such as Paella Valenciana. Borough Market will feature buffet stations with a global array of cuisines that allow guests to create their own combinations. Meanwhile, Ambassador pays homage to the late Michelle Lupino, Ambassdor Cruise Line's former head of destination management who passed away in October 2022, with Lupino’s, a Mediterranean-style restaurant that features an interior created by designer Guri Blindheim.

Saffron will offer an Indian fine dining experience, while Chef’s Table will enable guests to enjoy a multi-course, a la carte menu with wine pairings, while hearing about the inspiration behind each course from an executive chef. The Alfresco Grill will serve casual meals such as burgers, hot dogs and pizzas.

Ambassador Cruise Line will also offer a range of wines, beers, spirits, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, served at various locations around the ship. Bars will include the Cavern, a live music venue offering cabaret performances, game shows and quizzes; the Clifton Lounge, a cocktail bar; and the Consulate Bar, located beside the pool. Other venues will include the Angel Bar, the Purple Turtle Wine Bar, and the Pendennis Bar.

“We can’t wait to welcome guests onboard to experience our superb dining offering, and we look forward to hearing their feedback,” said McGowan.

Ambition is currently undergoing environmental upgrades and refurbishments in Germany before its official launch and maiden voyage, which will be celebrated at an event in the Port of Tyne in Newcastle on 11 May.
