Ambassador Cruise Line has signed an agreement with EnerMoves SRL to install a shore power connection system onboard Renaissance, with work scheduled for completion during the ship’s dry dock in October and November 2027.

The installation will allow Renaissance to connect to onshore electricity supplies while in port. Ambassador plans to install similar systems aboard Ambience during its scheduled dry dock in November and December 2027, followed by Ambition in autumn 2028.

EnerMoves will manage the technical challenges of the retrofitting programme, including synchronising the connection and transfer of electricity between onboard systems and onshore supplies.

The installations form part of Ambassador’s ongoing investment in fleet sustainability. Its existing ships are equipped with food waste and sewage treatment systems, as well as selective catalytic reduction technology to meet International Maritime Organization Tier III exhaust emission requirements.

The cruise line operates three ships: Ambience and Ambition, which offer adult-only cruises departing from regional UK ports, and Renaissance, which joined the fleet following the company’s merger with French operator Compagnie Française de Croisières in January 2025. Renaissance serves the French market during the summer and operates winter fly-cruises in the Caribbean for British, French and Dutch guests.
