Turnkey contractor Almaco delivered over 2,400 square metres of cold and freezer rooms and 92 waiter stations for restaurants and cafeterias onboard MSC Cruises’ new flagship MSC Virtuosa.

The ship is the second Meraviglia-plus vessel, following her sister ship MSC Grandiosa into MSC Cruises’ fleet. She was constructed at French shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique, with the schedule for delivery having to be updated due to the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, Almaco was able to complete its work onboard the ship ahead of this new deadline.

“The whole of Almaco is immensely proud of our project team and thankful for the outstanding flexibility, cooperation and help received from both MSC Cruises and Chantiers de l’Atlantique,” said Frédéric Vasseur, president of the catering division at Almaco.

MSC Virtuosa was delivered on 1 February 2021. She will make her debut on a series of short cruises around the UK coastline from the port of Southampton, with her first departure scheduled for 20 May.
