Almaco has outfitted 30 staterooms on deck nine of Carnival Elation as part of Carnival Cruise Line’s Fun Ship 2.0 Ship Enhancement Program, completing the work in challenging conditions.

During the 29 days of the ship’s dry dock in Grand Bahamas, winds of over 25 knots created difficulty in lifting materials, while social distancing measures introduced as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic made it difficult to receive materials from vendors.

After overcoming these issues to successfully complete the project on time, the team of 125 workers then faced a struggle to return home, with many flights being cancelled due to the pandemic. Carnival therefore provided rooms, meals and help with arranging alternative transport.

Almaco had previously completed work on Carnival Elation back in 2017, a project which was also carried out in the face of disruption as a result of the category 5 Hurricane Irma.
