AIDA Cruises has expanded its contract with UK-based outfitter Trimline, following the firm’s work onboard AIDAdiva, AIDAluna and AIDAbella as part of the cruise line’s AIDA Evolution refurbishment programme.
Trimline will take on the modernisation of the AIDA Cruises’ four remaining Selection class vessels: AIDAblu, AIDAsol, AIDAmar and AIDAstella, with work scheduled across phased drydocks until 2028.
The AIDA Evolution programme is the largest fleet modernisation programme in the cruise line’s history. Each ship will spend seven weeks in drydock at Chantier Naval de Marseille in France, where new suites and restaurant concepts, such as French Kiss and the Lanai outdoor bar, will be installed, alongside a full stateroom refurbishment, an expanded spa and a modernised Theatrium.
“We are delighted that AIDA Cruises has chosen Trimline to help deliver the next tranche of work in the Evolution programme – a larger and more ambitious package than the first three ships,” said Nick Farrell, managing director of Trimline. “That growth speaks volumes about the trust AIDA has placed in us and the delivery expertise of the Trimline team. It builds on three successful drydocks delivered on programme, on quality, and in close partnership with AIDA and the Chantier Naval yard. We’re proud to be carrying that momentum forward across the remaining four ships of the AIDA Selection family.”
