Spanish engineering company Adelte is to design, manufacture and install a new passenger boarding system for the cruise terminal at the Port of Tanger Ville in Morocco.

The new boarding system has been commissioned by the Société de Gestion du Port de Tangier Ville to further enhance passenger comfort, operational efficiency and the overall guest experience at the terminal.

The design will be based on Adelte’s Argos model, which is a self-propelled telescopic ship-to-shore gangway operating on rails. It incorporates two long tunnel sections which extend from the cruise ship access door down to quay level. The system is equipped with advanced sensor technology and electromechanical actuators enabling it to actively compensate for vessel movements, ensuring safe and smooth passenger embarkation and disembarkation under varying operational conditions.

Adelte is scheduled to deliver the system in 2027, by which time it will have delivered a total of 15 passenger boarding systems since 2002, covering the Moroccan ports of Tanger Ville, Tanger Med, Nador and Casablanca.
