Princess Cruises has revealed details of a new entertainment lineup set to debut on Star Princess, including two original theatrical productions, a stargazing candlelight concert series and performers from 24 countries.
“We're not just putting on shows; we're crafting moments that will stay with guests long after the final curtain,” said Lorna Warren, vice president of hotel operations and guest experience for Princess Cruises. “Star Princess was designed to surprise, move, and inspire each and every night.”
The theatre onboard Star Princess, now known at the Princess Arena, will play host to two new shows, Meridian and Illuminate: A Spectacle of Joy. Meridian will follow the journey of noblewoman Arabella Dovewood onboard the grand ship Celestial, featuring an original score and reimagined pop songs. The show has been led by BAFTA award-winning creative director Dan Shipton, with choreography by Kieran Daley-Ward and produced by Ross Nicholson.
Illuminate: A Spectacle of Joy, meanwhile, will take place under the velvet canopy of a circus tent. Guided by a troup of characters embodying the facets of a ringmaster – charisma, control, cunning and charm – audiences will be taken through a series of spectacles and illusions. Set to a multi-generational pop score by Kola Bello, Illuminate is choreographed by Jay Revell, who also co-directs the production alongside show producer Ross Nicholson.
Bost productions were created in partnership with Black Skull Creative, an entertainment consultancy based in London.
Another new addition to the entertainment lineup will be the Princess Cruises Candlelight Concert Series, which will take place in the glass-enclosed dome on top of Star Princess. Guests will be able to hear live performances of classical music that has been reimagined for the show, blending visual spectacle with the musical performance.
Princess Jamz, meanwhile, is a new 45-minute live performance by the 15-member Princess World Orchestra in the Piazza, led by the cruise director. Also taking place in the Piazza is the Celestial Champagne Soiree, a multimedia show under the stars. The evening event will feature light, sound and visual storytelling, culminating in Princess’ signature Champagne Waterfall.
Star Princess, sister ship of Sun Princess, sets sail on 4 October 2025. Built by Fincantieri in Monfaclone, Italy, the ship will sail across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Panama Canal and Alaska in its inaugural season.
