Cruise Ship Interiors (CSI) Design Expo Americas will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in the cruise ship interior design process and other industry challenges and opportunities when it takes place in Miami, Florida, in June.
The event, which will attract some of the biggest names in cruise ship and hospitality interior design, will discuss future trends, AI tools and the guest experience in a specially curated programme of talks, Q&A sessions, conferences, and networking events.
Sessions taking place at this year’s conference will include ‘AI tools in the creative process: Getting beyond the conceptual thinking application’ and ‘Next-Gen hospitality: Trends reshaping guest lifestyles’. Speakers from Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise Line and MSC Cruises will explore present challenges and solutions in the ‘State of the Market: How does design enhance the guest experience in newbuild projects’ discussion. Breakout talks will include ‘Universal design: Creating an inclusive experience for all’ led by Christina Budd, senior interior architect of hotel design and projects at Carnival UK, and Luke Spink, vice president of sales for USA and Canada at Panaz.
New for 2024 is the Attractions & Entertainment Technology Zone, which will host a session titled ‘Redefining entertainment at sea: Immersive experiences & attractions’, where attendees can hear how the industry’s top cruise lines are meeting guests demand for next-generation entertainment.

The speaker line-up includes Alix Loiseau, director of design and construction at Royal Caribbean International; James Mitchell, senior vice president of newbuild at Norwegian Cruise Line; Linh Nguyen, senior interior design manager at Holland America Group; Emilie Ørgård Posniak Hansen, architect at OSK Design; Ben Wilson, head of architecture and concept design at MSC Cruises; and many more.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from the Sustainable Design Summit working group and participate in a hands-on workshop covering sustainability and other key challenges facing those working within the hospitality travel interiors sectors.
In addition, attendees will receive access to the co-located Hotel & Resort Design South event. Here, they will be able to share ideas, draw inspiration from both markets, and meet with designers and suppliers working on the design of hotels, resorts and private island destinations in the South and Latin America regions.
